Terms of Service

PropertyRoofs is a service of Northwoods Ventures LLC. These terms are the agreement between you and Northwoods Ventures LLC ("we", "us") when you use the PropertyRoofs website. By using the site you agree to them.

1. What the site is, and isn't

PropertyRoofs offers free reference pages on commercial roof systems: how each is installed, its trade-offs, how it handles hail, and the warranties manufacturers offer. Where we give a figure or a claim from someone else, such as a manufacturer's data sheet or a test standard, we say where it comes from.

Information, not professional advice. What a roof needs depends on the building, its structure, local codes, wind and fire ratings, insurance requirements, and the condition of the existing roof. Manufacturers change their products and warranty terms. Confirm specifications, warranty terms and code requirements with the manufacturer, a licensed roofing contractor, or a design professional before you decide. Nothing on PropertyRoofs is engineering, legal, insurance, or professional advice. We don't install roofs, sell materials, or inspect buildings.

2. Who can use it

PropertyRoofs is for a general audience. If you are under 18, use it with the permission of a parent or guardian.

3. Our content and how you may use it

Our text, drawings, design, and code belong to Northwoods Ventures LLC. Brand and product names belong to their owners, and figures from other sources remain subject to their sources' terms. You may quote a short passage with a link back to the page, for example “per PropertyRoofs”. You may not copy the site in bulk, scrape it, republish substantial parts of it, or use it to build a competing product without our written permission. PropertyRoofs is not affiliated with or endorsed by any manufacturer, contractor, or standards body we mention.

4. Links and how we make money

Our pages link to manufacturers' documents, test standards and other sources we cite. Those are independent third parties; a link is not an endorsement, and no manufacturer or roofer pays to be mentioned. Their sites and services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. If we add advertising or paid partners, we will update these terms first.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use PropertyRoofs to break the law, to interfere with or overload the site, to scrape or copy our content in bulk, to impersonate anyone, or to misrepresent our content or where it came from. We may limit or end access for any of these.

6. Disclaimers and limits on our liability

THE SITE, AND EVERYTHING ON IT, IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SPECIFICATIONS, WARRANTY TERMS, RATINGS, AND OTHER INFORMATION MAY BE WRONG OR OUT OF DATE. YOU USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, NORTHWOODS VENTURES LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, INCOME, OR DATA, ARISING FROM THE SITE, ANYTHING ON IT, OR ANY THIRD PARTY YOU REACH THROUGH IT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100). Some places do not allow some of these limits, so some may not apply to you.

You agree to defend and hold Northwoods Ventures LLC harmless from claims arising from your use of the site, your breach of these terms, or your dealings with any third party you reach through it.

7. Changes and ending the service

We may change these terms. The effective date appears at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept it. We may change, suspend, or end any part of the site at any time. See also our Privacy Policy.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, to whose jurisdiction you consent.
